Precision Shifting. Aluminum Strength.

The FSA Gossamer ABS Chainring is CNC-machined from high-strength 7075 aluminum. This material choice offers an incredible stiffness-to-weight ratio, preventing the chainring from flexing under heavy sprinting or climbing loads. The ABS system uses a unique bolt pattern that reinforces the chainring at the points of maximum stress, resulting in crisper, more consistent front shifting.

Why the Gossamer ABS is a Reliable Choice:

  • CNC-Machined 7075 Aluminum: Crafted from premium aerospace-grade alloy for maximum durability and resistance to wear. It’s built to survive thousands of kilometers of hard riding.

  • ABS (Asymmetric Bolt Spacing): The four-bolt pattern is strategically spaced to provide extra support to the chainring where it's needed most during the power stroke, reducing flex and improving shift accuracy.

  • Precision Shifting Ramps & Pins: Features sophisticated shift ramps and stainless steel pins that "grab" the chain and move it between rings with speed and silence.

  • Compatibility with Modern Drivetrains: Fully compatible with Shimano and Sram 10/11Speed systems, making it an excellent replacement or upgrade for a wide variety of road and gravel bikes.

  • Hard Anodized Finish: The deep black anodized coating provides a sleek look and adds an extra layer of protection against the elements and drivetrain friction.

  • Optimized for Gossamer Cranks: While it works with other FSA ABS cranks, it is the perfect aesthetic and mechanical match for the FSA Gossamer ABS Crankset.

The Alegro Perspective: The Gossamer ABS is a favorite in our service department because it just works. While carbon rings look flashy, the machined aluminum of the Gossamer series offers a level of "toughness" that is hard to beat for everyday training and gravel riding. If your shifting has started to feel sluggish or your current rings are showing "shark-fin" wear, this is the most cost-effective way to restore that snappy, new-bike feeling.
